The Soraa MR16 GU5.3 (12V) is low-voltage instead, with a two-pin push-fit base that requires a compatible electronic transformer. It is common in damp, outdoor, and existing low-voltage track. If you are not sure which one you have, look at your current lamp: a twist-lock base with two fat pins is GU10, while two thin push-in pins are GU5.3. The fixture label usually states the voltage too, and confirming it before you order avoids a lamp that physically will not fit or safely run.

For the smoothest low-end dimming, pair GU10 with a wall dimmer on Soraa's compatible list and keep the total load inside the dimmer's rated minimum and maximum. When several lamps share one circuit, results are cleanest if they are the same model and firmware, so every head fades together instead of dropping out one at a time. If you are replacing halogen on an old dimmer, plan to test one lamp first - a control sized for high-wattage halogen may not run a low-wattage LED load smoothly, and swapping the dimmer is a smaller job than returning a full set of lamps.

Minimum Load on Low-Wattage Circuits

It also helps to plan the circuit around the dimmer's range rather than the lamp count alone. Because each GU10 draws so little, a handful of lamps can sit below an old dimmer's minimum load and flicker at the bottom of the range, the same way low-voltage lamps can.
